Tower packing is the random packing material which are used in wet scrubbers to provided a high surface area for gas absorption without restricting air flow. Tower packing is a solid shaped inert material. In the wet scrubber, the tower packing provide greater surface area within the cylindrical scrubber column for contacting liquid and gas.

Tower packing is also used in water treatment degasification, desorption, absorption, biological filtering and gas treatment. Tower packing provides high surface area within less bulk density.
